Explore Los Andes was founded by Francisco Galilea and Diego Hagemann, two climbers and mountain lovers united by a deep connection with the Andes and the natural world. What began as a shared passion for exploration, climbing, and outdoor life has become a company dedicated to creating real, safe, and meaningful experiences in Chile’s most remarkable landscapes.
Our purpose is simple: to share the beauty of the Andes in a more personal, professional, and authentic way. Through carefully designed private experiences, expert local guidance, and close attention to every detail, we aim to raise the standard of adventure tourism in Chile while helping each guest connect with the mountains in a genuine and unforgettable way.
A seasoned mountaineer, climber, and founder of Explore Los Andes, Francisco has spent years building a life closely connected to the mountains. His experience includes some of the Andes’ most challenging peaks, along with iconic climbing destinations such as Yosemite, Cochamó, and Patagonia.
Beyond his technical background, Francisco is known for his calm leadership, empathy, and ability to create safe, meaningful, and highly personalized experiences. With training connected to the IML/UIMLA path and the Chilean Association of Mountain and Climbing Guides (ACGM), he brings together local knowledge, mountain expertise, and a genuine passion for sharing the Andes with others.
A business engineer by profession and a climber by vocation, Diego has spent more than 15 years dedicated to mountaineering, technical climbing, and life in the mountains. His passion for climbing has taken him across Canada, the United States, Peru, Chile, and Argentina, where he has climbed iconic peaks and walls such as Cerro Torre in Patagonia and El Capitan in Yosemite.
After more than three years fully dedicated to climbing, Diego joined forces with Francisco to help bring authentic mountain experiences to a higher level. With a unique mix of business vision, technical experience, and genuine passion for the outdoors, he plays a key role in shaping Explore Los Andes as a company focused on real, safe, and unforgettable adventures.
